Theme 2 - Saving lives, optimising taxpayers investment

University of Cambridge

Lauren works on infectious disease epidemiology and modelling. She has an integrated master’s in mathematics and a master’s in Public Health. She is now a PhD student at the University of Cambridge. Her current research looks at possible amendments to the infant immunisation schedule for meningitis. She has evaluated the possible impacts of replacing Hib/MenC with the conjugate MenACWY vaccine and hopes to complete this work in the coming months. Her future work will be looking into varicella modelling, investigating whether adding a varicella vaccine to the infant schedule is cost effective.
