Caroline has degrees in Human Sciences (BA, University of Oxford) and Epidemiology (MSc and PhD, LSHTM).

She worked at the Health Protection Agency and then the University of Bristol before moving to Cambridge in 2013. She is also an honorary epidemiologist at PHE.

Her work focuses on the epidemiology and control of vaccine preventable diseases, and in particular bacterial meningitis. She is a member of the WHO 'Defeating Meningitis by 2030' Technical Taskforce.
